- Provides a confidential place to explore options in order to make informed decisions
- Listens and clarifies issues
- Assists visitors in navigating administrative processes
- Educates visitors on how processes work
- Clarifies policies and procedures
- Facilitates communication between parties
- Offers mediation services to assist parties in reaching their own mutually acceptable agreements
- Offers informal interventions to resolve complaints, conflicts or problems in a timely and discreet manner
- Serves as a referral resource
